Fred Longshaw - Columbia 14080 (1925)

This seems to be the only record released under Fred Longshaw's name. He also appears to have been a regular piano accompanist and songwriter for Bessie Smith. Just not too much on the net regarding Fred.

Recorded in New York on June 8, 1925.

  1. Thank you for posting these rarely heard, novel and interesting jazz solos....one can hear so many different stylistic approaches all in one performance, some Spanish Tinge, stride, blues, interrupted bass work, novelty breaks, boogie,
the whole shooting match. I like these sides! Wish he could have cut more solos on 78s.....would like to see a photo of the artist sometime
