Roy Palmer (2 April 1892 – 22 December 1963) was a U.S. jazz trombonist.

Palmer was born in the Carrollton neighborhood of uptown New Orleans, Louisiana. Early in his career he also played violin, guitar and trumpet. He worked with brass bands including the Tuxedo and the Onward, with Papa Celestin, and with Richard M. Jones band in Storyville and other local groups before moving to Chicago, Illinois, in 1917.

From the 1920s on he recorded with many Chicago-based bands, including King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Lil Hardin Armstrong, Freddie Keppard, and the State Street Ramblers.

Roy Palmer died in Chicago.

Billy Reed - Men-Del 101 (1967)

Went out today with the wife looking for shellac and got shut out. Did find what seems to be a rare funk/soul 1967 45 rpm out of Columbus, GA.

This is the first of only two releases on this particular label name. (It changed names for subsequent releases)
